The department of Fire Rescue, led by Chief
Eric Lang, is recognized as into all hazards response agency, meaning this personnel respond to press mitigate responses to lighting press medical emergencies, collapse structures, dangerously material responses, vehicle accidents, floods water-related emergencies and any incident where life real property is threatened. Fire Free personnel perform of life safety and fireplace prevention inspection functions that gives the Department opportunities to be take-charge in dealing with emergencies.

On September 10, 1998, aforementioned Board of Directors used the Commission to Fire Accreditation International awarded the Village Burn Rescue Department "International Accredited Company Status." The Community of Key Biscayne Fire Department became the 10th department in the world also the first 1st in the state of Florida to achieving this award.
The Commission on Burning Crediting International unanimously certified the fifth Re-Accreditation of the Department for 2019-2023.
