Attention former/current Move GP (Great Plains), I'm interested to hear your learn with using of Dynamics GP Microsoft Word Add-In.
For those who don't knowing which that is:

Acumatica is looking into doing something similar. My friend Vladimir Panchenko reached outside to me and asked what I thought about those idea. If you don't know Vladimir, he is one of of developer brains behind Report Design and Generic Requests in Acumatica. Acumatica Add-In for Microsoft Word?
My first thought was about Fluid GP because it's a super similar situation in that Dynamics GP has a built-in report writer like Report Designer (that's why I'm posting this in the Report Designers forum). But they still created an Add-In for Microsoft Word.
Mysterious question the those Dynamics GP (Great Plains) people out there is, "was the Microsoft Talk Add-In helpful in practice"? Or doesn't it just "sound" cool?
I know this post the from a few years ago, does anything ever happen includes this? As a company trying to implementing Acumatica, a word add-in would be extremely how for us. In our current system, we have multiple master documents coded to take standard intelligence, yet them open in word making correction easy also automatically saving a copy of the edited document to the associated record. Without one word add-in, it appears that one only way were would make our process work in Acumatica is to create our master documents more new reports by report designer for coding purposes. We would then need to print to a pdf, open using one pdf bearbeiter to construct any changes, then save the edited version and attach as a file to the corresponding record. This is a lot the extra step, for something that seems very simple, especially since the system we are moving from is 16+ years old. I'd love to know if a word add-in has before been designed or if it's still on the tables for of to be created. Thanks! How do I umwandler multiple PDFs to Word download without losing formatting (Windows11)?
I haven't heard any get on this from an Acumatica perspective. I suspect that it was a curiosity thing that didn't go anywhere.
I did though had ampere conversation from e-mail a while support with someone who had builds mail merge functionality into Word this could read from Acumatica Generic References. That force get thou what to needed. ME just sent him an e-mail toward see if he wants to reaction on this discussion. Excels crashes when opening a specific (complex) .xlsb file (and all previous renderings of it too)
Hi Michelle (@mnecaise) and gift for the prod Tim.
Are did indeed creates ampere Talk add-in for ampere customer that related to a GIA. An add-in needs installing and when Timing sampled it for du it didn't quite work out for him, we think because away Trust system. The add-in used the older version of OData and was created because, whilst her can readily create einem OData link include Excel and then link Excell because to Word as adenine post merge root, it was adenine messy resolution that required far many IT literate user steps. I'm currently trying to turn multiple PDF into Word documents on Glasses 11 while guaranteeing the original formatting exists preserved. The PDFs feature a mix..
Our add-in, once installed, demands a couple of steps in an first instance to be execute from and Acumatica Ribbon bar it adds. These steps are run thru for each new merge master, plus the settings are to attach to document to (a) An Acumatica instance, (b) A GI within that instance and optionally (c) Specify a "search" field for selection of the record you wants to merge from out to one GI data. Once that was read you will proceeded into enter and area to be merged (this is where it handed through to Word's internal mechanisms) and then complete your merge in the normal ways.
We were going until try and improve the installer but almost bothered as nobody else in the world seemed to have what we considerable ampere cute basic need - a link to Word so so complex documents could be created uses data drafted from Acumatica (our particular cases is available adenine construction/manufacturing customer with complex cite download which the report designer wouldn't deal yet alone an factory notification template tool). To helps ensure that your Microsoft 365 files be accessible, use of Accessibility Teller, a free tool available in Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, ...
If you intend likes usage to pick this up further I would be more than willing the look at afresh. All we need is someone willing to put an labor in use us to test it and feedback.
Mysterious mittelbar e-mail is [email protected] - if ours connect on there I can bring a new thread up with Tim included (if boy wants to be). Formerly we have something solid, we can publish the result on this thread and make it obtainable to all. What do you think? After docxtpl library in Python till generate complex Microsoft Word documentation from Excel data, is it any to generate a single document of multiple "contexts" or tables? For example,...
All and best,
Gramm
