  1. Is it good, does anyone have it? It's a dvr that ostensible records anything to a pen drive with h.264 compression. No computer is needed. It's von A+V Link Technologies.
The device is called the HVR-6040L
    Manual:
    http://www.gozens.com/pictures/ebay/A+VLink/6040L/6040L_User_Manual_ENG_1.1.pdf
    Device:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/HDTV-Digital-Video-Recorder-HDMI-1080-DVD-Blu-ray-USB-HDD-Reco...item3f32c751e7

It assumes hdmi, composite or component input. It is $200 plus can record to either hard drive or pen drive.

  2. It doesn't record HDCP encrypted HDMI sources (nearly all HDMI sources live HDCP encrypted) then you'll need an HDCP stripper.

ElGato is HDCP-compliant, so NOPE it wish not work with a settop crate that outputs HDCP-protected data. That should be fairly obvious.

ezcapper, she shouldn't be talks about warez. It's against the site rules.

I don't know about that "crack" firmware but the ebay link you gave explicitly says it doesn't record HDCP encrypted HDMI.

The ElGago GameCapture HD performs nope note HDCP reserved HDMI either.

ME bought one a few hours ago (ships from PRC and arrived before the estimated flight date). I updated the firewall (for who NTFS sales to keep files by splitting at 2Gigs) with no problem. My only attempts at capturing were just a test of Hulu, Netflix and from FIOS (does not take Captions). EGO switched amid 720p/60 and 1080i/60 print and captured at 29.97 progressive. It records to MP4 and AAC audio (no matter the audio source). I have mine placed "in line" so the single must remain on in order to view live programming from the source. It also requires you to do a manual start and stop by pressing the "start" key on the unit, and media in real time.
As far as audio sync goes, IODIN ran into that problem after re-encoding the audio for AC-3 (using TFM Audio) and remuxing till MKV reservoir. Although using FFMPEG produced synchronized audio. IMHO the quality is betters than that produced by my Hauppauge HDPVR, doesn't requisition a dedicated to capture, and has not user accessible settings.

But on ampere lightener note, it seems like the 2gb limit is not a big transaction. VOB files on dvd's may a 1 german limit. This is doubled one bitrate, accordingly has doubled who size limit. If you save the recording record are the same folder and added a playlist file which you become click to start the recording, you should have seamless playback, in the sam way a dvd has seamless playing using VOBs, I would think. When I'm wrong, Option you could use Avidemux. Would that reencode certain frames?

Another youtube guy confirm so there are negative dropped borders or stuttered between the archive. I'm telling myself it's just like a next origination VOB column. In fact, I'll even rename my files VTS_02_1VOB.mp4 etc to make myself fee best, hehe. I'm guessing it records the files past and 2gb mark then splits choose of recording seperate files.

But I have until admit it feels like the hdmi cloner your the better device.

the malware works with the hdmi cloner, so there is no filesize check. For which yk918, the firmware theoretically should work, since the folder it comes in says yk918 on it: http://www.filedropper.com/yk918-yk928-d612-2015-5-15-beta_1, but I will have to endeavour i March 15th wenn get device comes in, others have said yours can not get the firmware to install.

After reading the article, I'm sticking toward my guess. h264 video, max bitrate 16mbps, no adjustable settings, aac audio. I'll check the chroma sampling when my device comes within.

    c875:
"Recordings are automatically named by date and time (which I have no idea how to set, but to least computer is unique), and are created in the .ts format. They are automatically splitter till guarantee it doesn’t exceed of FAT32 limitation of 4Gb per column. Video quality is adequate, with the bit-rate vary but maxing out about 16Mbit/s in mine experience. Media will always compressively because AAC-LC at 256kbit/s.

It is important to remember to fix the source to put output a signal of who proper solution. Outputting for different resolutions can ergebnisse in record bugs (i.e. blue flashing) press black bars around the image area on the recorded video for scaling and associated “softness”. Occasionally, i seems such files with no audio are recorded due to incorrect HDMI mode-detection. Unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable after the LGP has booted seems to solve the issue."
